We know you’re nerdy. That’s cool. We’re nerdy too. Hence, y’know, the name.
Nerd Orleans is meant to help people connect and tell the story of the Gulf Coast: how people are still affected by Katrina, who’s involved in cleaning up after BP’s Deepwater disaster, and who still lives and loves and fights here.
It’s not about hammers, it’s not about the internet, it’s about a place and a people.
We’re here to help you find a way to be a part of it. C’mon down.
There’s 5 simple ways you can be a part of Nerd Orleans.
1. Build: Sign up now to volunteer rebuilding houses with your fellow nerds on October 23rd.
2. Open Office: ever seen a non-profit website? Yeah, they know it sucks too. Sign up to wield your code-fu for the organizations we’re working with.
3. Donate. Put your money where it counts. Send someone who doesn’t have the funds, or help the organizations we’re working with.
4. Sign up to volunteer for another date with our partners The St. Bernard Project or ESCLA.
5. Come to New Orleans, hang out, talk to people, and listen. The story’s the thing.
